What Vignettera is
Vignettera is not a government agency and not a national toll operator. Vignettera is not affiliated with ASFINAG, the Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Security, CENDIS, Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, DARS, Nemzeti Útdíjfizetési Szolgáltató, CNAIR or BGTOLL. Every vignette ordered through Vignettera is a genuine registration placed in the relevant national system. You can always order directly from the national operator, normally paying the state fee alone without a service fee.
What you are paying for
The total you pay consists of two separate amounts, itemised before payment and again on your receipt: the official state fee, which is passed to the national toll operator, and the Vignettera service fee, which covers placing the order, checking the details you gave and handling the confirmation. Vignettera does not set the state fee and cannot change it.
Your responsibility for the details you give
A digital vignette is stored against the exact licence plate registered, so the plate, the country of registration and the vehicle category you enter must match your vehicle. A vignette registered against a mistyped plate does not cover your journey, and the national operator treats the vehicle as unregistered. Check the details on the confirmation email as soon as it arrives and contact Vignettera immediately if anything is wrong.
Processing time and when a vignette becomes valid
Orders are placed manually by the Vignettera team, normally within 5 to 30 minutes during working hours. Separately from that, several countries apply their own statutory rule about when a digital vignette starts. Austria, for example, applies an 18-day withdrawal period to distance purchases unless the buyer expressly waives it. Vignettera cannot shorten a national waiting period, so order ahead of travel wherever your dates allow it.
Vehicle categories and eligibility
Prices shown cover passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes unless a page states otherwise. Heavier vehicles usually leave the vignette system entirely and use a distance-based toll instead. Some countries also charge by vehicle height or class, and Slovenia in particular splits cars into classes measured above the front axle. Choosing the wrong class means the vignette does not cover the vehicle.
Sections that a vignette does not cover
Several alpine tunnels and passes are tolled separately from the vignette and are paid at their own barrier, including the Brenner motorway and the Tauern, Katschberg, Arlberg and Karawanken tunnels. Holding a valid vignette does not pay these charges.
Cancellation and refunds
Refund rules are set out in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Limitation of liability
Vignettera is responsible for placing your order accurately on the basis of the details you provide. Vignettera is not liable for fines, penalties or losses arising from incorrect details supplied by you, from a vehicle class chosen incorrectly, from travel before a national validity period begins, or from separately tolled sections that a vignette never covered. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be excluded by agreement.
